SpiderBrave
ROLE
Developer
DESCRIPTION
For one of my assignments, I developed "SpiderBrave", a serious game designed as an adjunct tool for exposure therapy targeting arachnophobia. This project was born from an extensive research phase where I delved into the principles of exposure therapy, a recognized psychological treatment method that involves the gradual and controlled exposure to the phobic stimulus.
GAME DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT
"SpiderBrave" features multiple levels, each designed to gradually increase exposure to spiders in a controlled way. It starts with a cartoonish spider to ease players into interaction. As the game progresses, the spiders become more realistic, escalating from three cartoonish spiders in the second level to lifelike representations in advanced stages. This approach helps players slowly adjust to their fears while staying engaged and aligned with therapeutic principles.
